MTV Appoints Selena Gomez As Europe Music Awards Event Guide
"I am very pleased to have been chosen as the host MTV Europe Music Awards 2011. Is a dream come true! MTV Europe Music Awards is an event that has always recognized the stars throughout the world, so it is an honor to be the MC at the event this year, "Gomez said on one occasion as reported by Billboard.
As host of the show, Selena Gomez will supervise and provide commentary throughout the antics that happen on stage, performances of the performers, winners, and the important moments that occur throughout the event. He also will manage the changes that occur to the costumes and sets.
In addition, Gomez will also remain in touch with the audience at home that night and witnessed the conferring directly on TV via his Twitter account, @selenagomez, and presents a unique commentary on the official website of the MTV Europe Music Awards in MTVEMA.com.
As previously reported, Lady Gaga distribution leads nominations for the MTV Europe Music Awards with six nominations this year, the Best Song, Best Live, Best Pop, Best Female, Best Video, and the Biggest Fans.
Katy Perry and Bruno Mars followed behind with four nominations. Adele, Justin Bieber, and 30 Seconds to Mars each picked up three nominations. Other nominees include Foo Fighters, Arcade Fire, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay, Beyonce, Kings of Leon, and Kanye West.
Famous female singer from Indonesia, Agnes Monica, also received one nominiasi at the MTV Europe Music Awards for Best Worldwide Act (Asia and Pacific) along with six competitors, namely the Big Bang of South Korea, Exile from Japan, Gotye from Australia, Jane Zhang from Chinese, Jay Chou of Taiwan, and Sia from Australia.
